Why Does Hair Color Fade?

Think of your hair like a pinecone. The cuticle, which is the outer layer, has tiny scales that lie flat when hair is healthy. Those scales lock in color and reflect light, which is what makes color-treated hair look shiny. When the scales lift, color molecules escape and the strand looks dull. That fading is not the pigment failing, it is the cuticle failing to hold it in.

How Does Vitamino Color Spectrum Actually Help?

Vitamino Color Spectrum from L'Oreal Professionnel is one of the tools we lean on to fight fade. The line is built for color-treated hair. It contains antioxidants and UV-shielding ingredients that protect strands from Florida sun and pollution, both of which dull color. It also smooths the surface of the strand so the cuticle stays flat and tight, which keeps pigment locked in.

How Do You Keep Color Fresh in Vero Beach?

Protecting color in Florida is more than picking the right shampoo. These are the habits we walk through with clients at 541 Beachland Boulevard:

Why Does Salon Color Hold Better Than Box Dye?

Salon color is worth the investment because a professional colorist customizes your shade and uses products that protect the health of the strand while depositing color. Box dye is one formula for every head of hair on earth, which is why the picture on the front rarely matches what ends up on your hair. We break down the science in why box color never looks like the picture.
