Brazilian Blowout smoothing treatment at James Geidner Hair Studio in Vero Beach, FL

Blonde Color at James Geidner Hair Studio

At James Geidner Hair Studio, we have been doing blonde work in this market for decades. James Geidner earned Colorist of the Year in 2021 and brings over 40 years of hands-on experience to every color service. Victoria Swegan specializes in blonding and treatments and handles some of our most complex lightening work.

Blonde hair and Vero Beach go together, but getting blonde right takes more than lifting color. It takes the right level of lift for your hair's condition, a toner chosen for your skin tone, and a home routine that stands up to Florida sun, salt and chlorine.

Pricing: foil highlights, MajiBlond high-lift retouches and toning at the bowl are on our service menu, and every blonde plan is quoted at consultation.

We are at 541 Beachland Blvd in Vero Beach. If you are tired of brassy results, uneven lift, or blonde that fades wrong in the sun, come in and let us show you what the right approach looks like.

More About Blonde Color

Highlights vs. Balayage: Which One Is Right for You

Both services create lighter pieces throughout the hair, but they do it differently and produce different results. Understanding the difference helps you walk in knowing what you want.

Traditional Highlights

Highlights use foils to lift sections of hair to a precise tone. The result is a consistent, multi-dimensional blend of light and dark pieces. They grow out with a more defined line at the root, which means more frequent touch-ups for clients who want a polished, saturated blonde look. Highlights are a great fit if you want brighter, more uniform color throughout.

Balayage

Balayage is a freehand painting technique. Color is applied without foils, which creates a softer, more gradual transition from root to tip. The grow-out is natural and low-maintenance, which makes it a perfect match for the beach lifestyle Vero Beach clients live. Victoria specializes in this technique and has the eye for placement that makes balayage look sun-kissed rather than painted.

Our Blonde Process

  • Color consultation. We look at your current color, your natural base, your hair's condition, and what you are trying to achieve. We set realistic expectations for where we can take you in one visit and what a multi-session process looks like if needed.
  • Base preparation. If your hair needs a treatment or toning adjustment before lightening, we handle that first. We do not skip steps to rush the service.
  • Lightening. We apply your highlights or balayage using the technique best suited to your hair type and goal. Timing and placement are everything at this stage.
  • Lifting hair creates warmth. Toning neutralizes that warmth and delivers the exact shade of blonde you came in for. Ashy, beachy, golden, or anything in between.
  • Finishing treatment. We always finish with a conditioning treatment to close the cuticle and protect the integrity of color-treated hair.

Protecting Your Blonde in the Florida Sun

The Vero Beach sun is relentless. UV exposure, salt water, and chlorine all pull color out faster than you expect. After your service, we will walk you through the products and habits that protect your investment. That includes UV-protective sprays, color-safe shampoos, and how to manage your hair after a beach day without stripping your tone.

We want your color to look great for as long as possible between visits. That is good for you, and it is how we build relationships with clients who keep coming back.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to go blonde?

Foil highlights and high-lift blonde retouches are priced on our service menu. A big change from dark hair is usually a series of appointments, so we quote the full plan at consultation.

How many sessions does it take to go fully blonde from dark hair?

Usually more than one. Dark brown to platinum is almost always a multi-session process, and trying to do it in one visit damages hair. We tell you exactly what is realistic at your consultation and build a plan that gets you there without wrecking your hair along the way.

How do I keep my blonde from going brassy?

Use a purple or blue toning shampoo once a week, protect your hair before chlorine, and come in for a toner refresh every 6 to 8 weeks. We give you specific product recommendations based on your tone at your appointment.

Is balayage low maintenance?

Yes, compared to traditional highlights. The soft grow-out means you are not chasing a root line every 6 weeks. Most balayage clients come in every 10 to 16 weeks for a refresh.

Can I get highlights if my hair has been chemically processed?

In most cases, yes. We assess the condition of your hair before any lightening begins. If your hair is too compromised, we recommend a strengthening plan such as an Olaplex treatment before we add more chemical processing.
