Together they are the most underrated services on our menu: they refresh color, kill brass, add shine and extend the life of your last color service by four to six weeks.

We custom-mix every toner, because no off-the-shelf formula fits every client, and the wrong toner on the wrong hair can turn purple, gray or muddy. All three stylists handle toner and gloss; James and Jean custom-mix for complex tones.

Tone is where most colorists either lose the look or save it. Reading underlying pigment, understanding how Florida sun and salt water shift tone, and choosing a formula that holds without going too cool or too warm is a skill that takes years. What This Service Includes

Toner is a deposit-only color that neutralizes unwanted tones in lightened hair. A gloss is a semi-permanent shine treatment that adds richness and dimension to natural or color-treated hair. Both are demi-permanent and fade gradually over four to six weeks.

What to Expect at Your Appointment

Toner and gloss services run 30 to 60 minutes including processing, shampoo and a finishing blowout. We talk through what is going on with your color, mix custom formulas at the bowl, apply, process, rinse and style. You leave with the brass gone and the shine back.

How long does a toner or gloss last?

Four to six weeks, depending on how often you wash, your water and your sun exposure. Clients with regular pool time see faster fade.

Can a toner fix orange or yellow blonde?

Yes, that is exactly what toner is for. Orange usually needs a blue-based toner and yellow needs purple. Choosing wrong is what makes blondes look gray or ashy.

Is a gloss the same as a glaze?

Functionally, yes. Different brands use different names; both are demi-permanent shine and color refresh treatments that wash out gradually.

Can I get a toner without highlights?

Yes. Many clients book a stand-alone gloss between full color appointments to keep tone fresh.

Will it cover my grays?

Not fully. Toner and gloss blend gray for a softer look but do not give opaque coverage. For full gray coverage we use permanent color; see root touch-up.
